Nitesh Tiwari’s Epic Recovers Strongly with ₹85+ Crore India Gross
Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological drama *Ramayana* has regained significant ground after a relatively subdued Friday. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the film registered improved footfalls on Saturday, its third day of release, injecting fresh energy into its opening weekend just as the Diwali holiday period begins.
According to early trade estimates, the film collected over ₹85 crore gross in India on Day 3. That performance takes its three-day domestic total to approximately ₹225 crore. The Hindi version continues to drive the bulk of the business, while the Kannada, Telugu and Tamil versions have also found traction in several key centres.
Overseas Markets Deliver Their Strongest Day Yet
International numbers have shown a clear upward trend. After opening with $5.45 million on Day 1 and around $4.9 million on Day 2, *Ramayana* is expected to cross the $7 million mark on Saturday. If the estimate holds, it will mark the film’s highest single-day overseas collection so far. The combined worldwide gross for Day 3 is projected at roughly ₹150 crore.
These figures push the three-day worldwide total close to the ₹400 crore threshold. Trade observers note that Saturday is shaping up to be the strongest day of the opening weekend.
Ramayana Stages a Strong Saturday Rebound at the Box Office
Sunday collections may face some pressure from Diwali celebrations themselves, as families prioritise festivities over cinema visits. However, the extended holiday period on Monday and Tuesday is expected to provide another opportunity for the film to consolidate its position.
For a large-scale mythological project of this nature, the early recovery on Day 3 is significant. It suggests that word-of-mouth and holiday timing are beginning to work in the film’s favour after the initial Friday slowdown. How *Ramayana* sustains this momentum through the festive week will determine whether it can convert its strong opening into a longer theatrical run.
